Know the home, know the fault
In flats and smaller homes where floor space is limited, a combined washer dryer is a highly practical choice. These machines work hard, handling both the washing and drying cycles in a single compact drum. Because they do the job of two separate appliances, their internal components endure long run times and significant temperature changes during a full laundry load. When a machine stops drying properly, clothes might come out damp or the cycle may seem to run endlessly without ever finishing. This happens if the heater element fails or if fluff builds up inside the condenser chamber, restricting the necessary airflow. Washing faults are just as disruptive. A machine that refuses to fill, drain or spin might have a blocked pump filter or a worn motor brush. Leaks are another issue, sometimes originating from a split door seal or a degraded internal hose. Modern units will also display error codes or experience control board faults when sensors detect a problem with water levels or temperatures. When we arrive, we test the appliance to find out why it has stopped washing or drying. We check the heating elements, inspect the door seals for leaks, and examine the pump and drainage system.

Call 01752 922765This happens when the machine produces no heat or when airflow is restricted. A failed heater element or a tripped thermal thermostat will stop the air from warming up. Alternatively, fluff can block the internal condenser chamber, preventing moisture from being removed from the drum during the drying phase.
A failure to drain is usually caused by a blockage in the pump filter or the waste hose. Small items like coins or buttons can slip past the drum and jam the pump impeller. If the pump motor itself has failed, it will not push the water out of the machine.
Leaks at the front of the machine usually point to a problem with the rubber door seal. Over time, the seal can degrade, tear, or become punctured by sharp objects left in pockets. Water can also escape if the door hinge is loose or the glass bowl is not seating correctly.
