Know the home, know the fault
In a holiday home or a main residence, a wine cooler is expected to maintain a steady climate for stored bottles. When a chiller is built into a kitchen island or placed under a counter, it relies on adequate airflow to function properly. If ventilation is restricted by surrounding cabinetry, the compressor has to run longer to remove heat, which places extra strain on the cooling system. A wine cooler failing to hold its set temperature is a fault that requires investigation. Dual-zone models can experience a failure in just one section, which is sometimes caused by a faulty circulation fan or a defective control board failing to direct cold air where it is needed. Condensation and misting on the glass door usually point to a degraded door seal allowing ambient air to enter the cabinet. When warm air meets the cold interior, moisture forms inside, forcing the appliance to work harder to maintain the correct internal environment. We repair appliances in customers' homes. Please note that while we repair electric ovens, electric cookers and induction hobs, we do not work on gas cookers, gas hobs or any gas appliance.

Call 01752 922765This happens when the components managing airflow or temperature in one specific zone fail. It is usually caused by a broken circulation fan, a faulty temperature sensor, or an issue with the main control board. The appliance will need to be dismantled to test these individual parts and find the exact fault.
Condensation forms when warm room air enters the chilled cabinet. The most likely cause is a worn, split or flattened rubber door seal that no longer sits flush against the frame. It can also happen if the door hinges have dropped slightly, preventing the door from closing tightly against the appliance body.
A vibrating noise usually comes from the compressor or the cooling fans. If the appliance is not sitting level on the floor, the compressor mounts can rattle against the chassis. Alternatively, a fan motor might have worn bearings, or debris could be catching on the fan blades as they spin.
