Know the home, know the fault
Some of these are used exclusively by owners, while others function as holiday lets, a tradition of holiday homes that began here in the eighteenth century. In a holiday let, a washer dryer is a practical choice for turning around laundry without needing separate machines. When different guests use an unfamiliar combined appliance, the wash and dry cycles can be interrupted or overloaded. A washer dryer handles two distinct jobs in one cabinet, which means it has both water and heating systems that can fail. If the machine stops drying, the clothes might remain damp, or the cycle might never finish. This happens when the heater element fails or a thermostat cuts out. Washing faults include the drum refusing to fill, drain or spin. Because the condenser system relies on cold water to remove moisture during the drying phase, a blocked pump or a faulty water valve will affect both washing and drying. Leaks can develop from a damaged door seal, especially if items are caught in the glass bowl, and control faults will display error codes on the front panel. We look at drying faults where there is no heat, washing faults where the machine is not filling, draining or spinning, as well as leaks, door seal problems and control faults. Please note that we only repair electric appliances and do not work on gas cookers, gas hobs or any gas appliance.

Call 01752 922765A washer dryer uses a condenser system to remove moisture. If the machine is not heating, the clothes will stay wet. This points to a failed heater element or a tripped thermostat. Alternatively, if the appliance cannot drain the condensed water away due to a blocked pump, the laundry remains damp.
If the drum does not fill, the wash cycle cannot start. This happens when the water inlet valve fails or the control board stops sending power to it. A blocked filter on the inlet hose can also restrict water flow. We check these components to find out why the water is not entering the machine.
Front leaks usually come from the rubber door seal. Over time, the seal can degrade, or sharp items left in pockets can tear the rubber during a fast spin. If the door glass does not sit flush against the seal, water will escape. We look at the seal and the door hinge to locate the leak.
