In large kitchens, an electric range cooker is a substantial appliance that provides multiple ovens and a wide hob. When a property is rented out to holidaymakers, the cooking equipment sees varied use from different guests, which can take a toll on dials, door hinges and heating elements. A range cooker has several separate compartments, meaning one section might fail while the rest continues to work. If the main or secondary oven stops heating but the fan still turns, the fan element has likely failed. Grill and hob faults can involve blown rings or faulty energy regulators behind the control knobs. Thermostats control the temperature in each cavity, and when these break, the oven may overheat and burn food or fail to reach the required heat. Sometimes, a degraded element or a damaged wire inside the casing will cause the appliance to trip the electrics as soon as a specific oven or hob zone is switched on. During a visit, we look at the controls, fans, thermostats and elements to find out why the cooker is not working. Whether the appliance is in an older house or a newer property built below the main road to Malborough, we repair electric range cookers in your home. We do not work on gas cookers, gas hobs or any gas appliance, focusing entirely on electric and induction cooking equipment.

Call 01752 922765This happens when an electrical component develops a fault and shorts to earth. In an electric range cooker, the most likely cause is a split or degraded heating element in one of the ovens or the grill. It can also be caused by faulty wiring, a damaged selector switch, or moisture getting into the terminal block at the back of the appliance.
If the indicator lights come on and the fan turns but the cavity stays cold, the fan element has probably failed. The element is a circular coil located behind the back panel of the oven, and the internal wire eventually burns out over time. If the fan is also dead, the issue might be a faulty thermostat or a broken selector switch.
Yes, we repair electric and induction hobs that are built into range cookers. Induction hobs can suffer from failed control boards, blown cooling fans or damaged induction coils. We look at the internal components to identify why the zones are not recognising pans or why the hob is flashing error codes. We do not work on any gas hobs or gas appliances.
