Know the home, know the fault
The area is also a favoured spot for tourists, meaning some houses function as holiday lets. In a busy family home or a holiday rental, a washing machine works hard dealing with daily laundry or turning around bedding and towels. Older buildings sometimes have uneven floors, which can make a machine more prone to movement if the feet are not adjusted correctly during installation. When a washing machine starts to vibrate excessively or becomes noisy on a spin cycle, it is usually down to worn drum bearings or a loose concrete counterweight. Machines that will not drain or spin are another fault we diagnose. This happens when the pump filter gets blocked by coins or hair grips, or if the drain pump itself fails. Leaks can appear from the door seal, internal hoses or the pump area. If the appliance trips the electrics or stops mid-cycle with an error code, the issue might be a faulty heating element or a worn motor brush. A door that will not open at the end of a wash usually points to a broken handle mechanism or a failed interlock. Once in your home, we look at the appliance to diagnose draining, spinning, filling and heating faults. We check for leaks from seals, hoses and the pump area, and investigate door locks and doors that will not open or close. We also trace the cause of machines that trip the electrics or show error codes, and find the reason behind noisy drums and excessive vibration on spin.

Call 01752 922765A machine will abort the spin cycle if it cannot drain the water fast enough. The pressure switch detects water left in the drum and stops the motor to prevent flooding. This is usually caused by a blockage in the pump filter or a failing drain pump that needs replacing.
Leaks from the bottom of the appliance usually originate from the internal hoses, the pump housing or a split door seal. Water runs down the inside of the cabinet and pools underneath. We inspect the pump area and internal connections to find exactly where the water is escaping during a wash.
The door interlock is designed to stay closed if there is water left in the drum or if the mechanism itself has failed. A snapped handle will also stop the door from opening. We can manually release the catch from inside the cabinet and then replace the broken lock or handle.
