Call 01752 922765This happens when cold air from the freezer cannot circulate into the fridge compartment. It is usually caused by a blocked air damper, a broken evaporator fan, or heavy ice build-up restricting the vents. The compressor is still running to cool the freezer, but the fridge section gets no chilled air.
Water inside the fridge compartment is usually the result of a blocked defrost drain. During the automatic defrost cycle, condensation drips down the back wall and should exit through a small hole. If food debris or mould blocks this drain hole, the water overflows and pools under the salad drawers.
Solid ice build-up points to a failure in the automatic defrost system. The defrost heater, thermostat, or control board may have stopped working, preventing the appliance from melting away normal frost. A damaged door seal can also let warm room air inside, which turns into excess condensation and freezes solid.
